December 2011

Well, here we are again. Many apologies for the delay  – has it really been two months since the last one? -  we’ve been so unbelievably busy that it’s been a struggle to remember where we live let alone anything else.
So, where to begin……we had an urgent request for a Carmen Miranda fruit hat from Rat Pack – The Tour that turned into a full-on tutti frutti turbanesque headdress and was received enthusiastically by all concerned.
We finally started the Kangaroo costumes and Gumby shoes for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert  for Brazil. We learned that our beautiful 3ft boat models and some of the props we made last year for Bristol Old Vic’s production of Swallows and Amazons are going to be used in the show that is being transferred byThe National Theatre to the Vaudeville Theatre, London for Christmas then embarking on a UK tour.
Talking about Christmas, we built and installed the set for Cinderella at The Tobacco Factory in Bristol – if you get a chance to go and see it then do, it’s brilliant - and have put the finishing touches to some props for the world premiere of The French Detective and The Blue Dog at The Egg at Bath Theatre Royal.
And, finally, we  finished installing the festive set into the reception area at The Grand Hotel by Thistle in central Bristol last week so if you happen to be passing by then feast your eyes on a foyer full of Chrimbo cheer.
Have a great Christmas from all at Jagprops and see you in the New Year…..!
